The latter's father, Michael Hoblit, emi- grated from Germany about 1760, and lived near Philadelphia, where his son David was born.... David Hoblit was in the War of 1812, and emigrated from Ohio to Missouri at an early day He lived to a ripe old age, and at his death his posterity numbered over eighty souls."
