Everett Braxton was the son of Everett and Margie Woodell Sampson. He married Aggie Nora Hammonds on Nov. 7, 1911 in Robeson county, North Carolina.
He and his wife were among the sixteen charter members of Berea Baptist Church in Pembroke, NC. Several of his children are buried in Berea's cemetery.

Veteran Indian Teacher Passes
Everette Sampson taught in Robeson Schools for 40 years
Everette Braxton Sampson, 62, of the Deep Branch section, Lumverton, Rt. 4, and Indian school teacher for 40 years, died Tuesday at 5 p.m. in Thompson Memorial hospital, where he had been taken 3 hours before with a heart ailment. He had been in declining health for a year and his condition had been critical since Monday. Time of the funeral has not been set, pending the arrival of a son, Pvt. Knox Sampson of Camp Adair, Oregon. Rites will be conducted at Berea Baptist church, Pembroke, of which he was a charter member, and a former Sunday school teacher. Burial will be in Deep Branch cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Aggie Nora Hammonds Sampson, 8 children, Sanford and Bennie R. Sampson, members of the Pembroke high school faculty, Pvt. Earl B. Sampson, who arrived Tuesday from overseas, Pvt. Knox Sampson of Adair, Oregon. Gurney E. Sampson and Miss Estelle Sampson of the home. Mrs. John Luther Jacobs of Lumberton, R. 4, and Mrs. Joseph E. Maynor of Baltimore, Md. A 10-year-old daughter. Dailey Mae died in 1928. He is also survived by several brothers in N.C., S.C., and Ohio. He was a son of the late Everette and Margie Sampson of Lumberton, R. 4.
Deceased began teaching school in 1905, and taught continuously in the schools of the county, chiefly at Burnt Swamp, until February of this year when he had to resign because of ill health.
