Harry M Deardorff, 50, died suddenly Sunday night at 10:15 at his home, Orrtanna R1, Dr. C G Crist, Adams County coroner, said the death was caused by a coronary occlusion. He had been in his usual health during the day. The family was about to retire and he had gone to his bedroom. His wife, who had gone to the kitchen briefly before gong to bed, heard him fall. When she reached his side death had occurred. A son of Mrs. Margaret (Shultz) Deardorff, Orrtanna R1, and the late Charles Deardorff, he was a native of Adams County. He had been employed as a worker on the township roads, and was a member of the Cashtown Fire Co. and Amvets Post 172 of Fairfield. Surviving are his wife, the former Grace Scott, whom he wed 23 years ago; two sons, Robert H Deardorff, Orrtanna R1, and Peter Paul Deardorff, at home; a grandson; and theses brothers and sisters; Mrs. John Rebert, Orrtanna; Mrs. Lawrence Kimple, Orrtanna R1; Mrs. Clarence Wolf, Orrtanna R1; Mrs. John Helm, York, and Theodore Deardorff, Orrtanna. Funeral services on Wednesday morning at 10:00 from the Bender Funeral Home, Carlisle Street, with the Rev. William Fenstermaker officiating. Interment in Flohr’s Cemetery.
