Ida Rissanen (neé Mustonen) was born in Haapajärvi, Valtimo, North Karelia, Finland on the 24th of June 1869 as the fifth daughter of Olli and Maria Mustonen. She had four elder sisters and two younger siblings, brother and sister.
She was wedded to Olli Rissanen on the 5th of August 1888 and the couple had six children before they moved to Kotka in the beginning of 20th century. In Kotka the life was in many ways easier because there you were able to work as saw worker and the saw in Hovinsaari was growing all the time.
In Kotka Olli and Ida got four children more and the growing family lived in Hovinsaari, close to the saw. They also raised their granddaughter Alice Wellamo whose mother Aliisa died when Alice was just few years old.
Ida Rissanen died in Kotka on the 5th of December 1930 at the age of 61. She was buried next to her husband, son and grandson in Parikka Cemetery, Kotka, Kymenlaakso, Finland.
