Born in Rock County Wisconsin. Moved to Clayton County, Iowa ca 1850 where he met and married Bergetta Hovda, then to Moody County SD in 1877, Brule County, SD in 1883. then to Lyon County, IA ca 1888, and back to Moody County, SD ca 1890 where he died in 1893.Oluf and Bergit were married around 1871. other children- Berdina married Swen Granley , lived in both Alberta and British Columbia, Canada and had 5 children;

Othilda (Tilly)married Albert Nelson in Flandreau, SD. lived successively in Flandreau SD,Estherville, IA, Spring Valley, MN, and Green Bay, WI. They had 3 children, Othilda died in Green Bay, Aug 5, 1957; Jenny married Elmer Blow, and eventually lived in Puyallup,Washington where she died June 28, 1941;

John Emil eventually moved to Salem, Oregon,, was married to Pearl Henery, had 3children and died in Salem Oct 26, 1956;

Lars (2nd) married Emma Hugaas in Flandreau, SD,, had 5 children, and moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin ca 1926 to join his sister Tilly's family who had moved there in 1923. Lars died there Apr 2, 1972, the last surviving child of Oluf.
