Joseph was born in 1667. He is the son of Joseph Alden and Mary Simmons. He passed away on December 22, 1747 at Bridgewater, Massachusetts. He was a grandson of Mayflower Pilgrims John Alden and Priscilla Mullins Alden. He married Hannah Dunham about 1689 or 90. The ten children born to the Joseph Aldens were Daniel, Joseph (Who died young), Eleazer, Hannah, Mary, Joseph, Jonathan, Samuel, Mehitable, and Seth. Joseph gave portions of his lands to each of his surviving sons.
