"Has sometimes been confused with Richard, s. John Jr., b. 1666." <ref>The Baldwin genealogy from 1500 to 1881, p 304 [https://books.google.ca/books?id=LYoJAwAAQBAJ&pg=PA304&lpg=PA304&dq]</ref> 27 Sep 1666 <ref>"Connecticut Births and Christenings, 1649-1906," database, FamilySearch ([https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:F7WY-88S] : 3 December 2014), Richard Baldwin, 27 Sep 1666; citing ; FHL microfilm unknown.</ref> or 27 Dec 1666 <ref>"ConnecticutBirths and Christenings, 1649-1906," database, FamilySearch ([https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:F7WY-88Q] : 3 December 2014), RichardBaldwin, 27 Dec 1666; citing ; FHL microfilm unknown.</ref>. Included in the fraudulent Franklin Bearce "genealogy". There is no evidence that Richard Baldwin committed adultery with an Ann Warrups, and had children with anyone other than his wife, Amey Oviatt. Richard was in good standing with the church. <ref>The Baldwin genealogy from 1500 to 1881, p 304 [https://archive.org/stream/baldwingenealogy00bald#page/304/mode/2up]</ref> This leaves no native ancestry for any children, since the entire native heritage supposedly comes through Ann Warrups. Although Richard Baldwin does have a son, John, b. 14 Apr 1695, there is no evidence of John marrying a Mercy Caroline. He married 1: Joanna Goodrich; and 2: Eleanor Barnes. <ref>The Baldwin genealogy from 1500 to1881, p 313 [https://archive.org/stream/baldwingenealogy00bald#page/312/mode/2up]</ref> There is no evidence of that son having a daughter, named Rebecca. Any of his children wouldn't have native heritage, even if there was.
