From the book of the Larimer Family 1740 -1959 published by J. C. Work:
Robert Larimer was 20 years old when he enlisted in army for 1812 war. He was also in General Hull's surrender to the British. Afterward he re-enlisted, disregarding his parole, he was in several battles. In the year 1840 they settled in Elkhart County, Indiana, Middlebury Twp. later in 1847 to LaGrange County, near East Lake. Robert Larimer died at the age of 56 and was buried in Eldridge Cemetery near Middlebury, Indiana.
