Tarnow birth record lists birth of Salomon Wolf Weitzman on December 29, 1876 at house number 75 in Tarnow. Often, a child would adopt the maiden name of his mother. He lists birth as December 1877, though his Polish birth record lists December 1876. His occupation is cutter. On his WWI Draft Registration dated 9/12/1918, he listed permanent address as 36 Jones Street, Newark. He listed employment as tailor with Sigmund Eisner Co. in Carteret, NJ. He listed next of kin as his wife, Millie. In the 1920 Census, they moved to 447 South 11th Street (where they still lived by 1940 census). Samuel was a tailor for men's pants. Isadore (born 1901) worked as a stock clerk at lamp works. Ida (born 1907) was a coiler at the lamp works. In the 1930 Census, Ida (age 23) was a dress saleslady. Abe (b. 1908) was a furniture salesman. In the 1940 census, Samuel and Millie lived with Dora Lechter (listed as sister - in - law). She was born in NY in 1905 and was working as a dress saleslady.
