Sanford Locklear, Sr

Sanford, Sr. was the son of Rev. Peppers Mahoney, Sr. and Mary Catherine Hunt Locklear. He married Gussie Mae Hammonds.

The following was taken from the Feb. 21, 1968 edition of THE ROBESONIAN:

Sanford Locklear, 58, died Tuesday at his home on Route 1 of a heart attack. The funeral will be at First Methodist Church Sunday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Mangum and the Rev. Venus Brooks officiating.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gussie May Locklear; his children, Mrs. Ellen Devine and Mrs. Ann Martinse of Fayetteville, James W. Locklear of Greensboro, and Fontine, Wanda, Susan, Martin, John, and Sanford Locklear, Jr., of the home; six sisters and two brothers.
