Thomas Henry Kelly

"Kelly, Thomas Henry, 1862-1942 Born at Ashford Estate in Cong on the Mayo-Galway border in Ireland in 1862. Thomas joined the Royal Irish Constabulary but then emigrated with his younger sister Elizabeth. They departed London on 3 August 1880 on board the barque Glenlora and arrived at Auckland in New Zealand on 29 October 1880. Thomas married Elizabeth Crawford (1863-1941) at Hamilton in the Waikato on 5 July 1884. They had nine children together and Thomas served as a Cambridge Borough Councillor. He died at Waikato Hospital at the age of 80 on 14 October 1842 and was buried in Hautapu Cemetery."
