Bridget Jane Kelly

"Bridget Jane Bell was born at Wicklow in Ireland in 1839. Her youngest child was five years old when her husband died in 1879. Bridget was 50 years old when she and four of her children immigrated to Australia on board the Oroya and it seems she buried five of her 10 children before she died in 1923. A son was killed while serving in the South African conflict, another was wounded during the First World War and her daughter was awarded the Military Medal for bravery.
