About Willem Hendrik Boshoff
Wilem Hendrik Boshoff (*6/5/1813 ≈ 1/8/1813 †9/11/1863) was die 3de seun van JN Boshoff Snr. Hy is op Montagu, Kaap gebore en kom in 1844 na Natal. Hy het eiendom in Pietermaritzburg en die plaas Wintrshoek naby die Mooirivier besit. Hy was 'npionier to.v. Merinoskape in Natal in 1858. Hy tree vir die 1ste keer op 1/4/1835 in die huwelik met JAcomina Louissa v d Merwe (*27/9/1817†27/9/1842) Na haar dood trou hy weer op 29/5/1843 in die huwelik met Anna Catharina Smit(ca 1826 † 13/9/1894)
He moved to Natal from Graaf-Reinet in 1844, not long after his brothers. He bought property in Pietermaritzburg, and this became his home-away-from-home. He owned the farms Winterhoek & Groot Hoek and co-owned the fram Rensburg and Stanger's Hoek with his brother J.N. Boshoff. He was a pioneer in "inporting" Merino Sheep into Natal in 1858.
