Obituary of Great-Aunt Wilma Marzofka as copied from the Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune (slightly paraphrased)

Wilma Marzofka, 82, 6776 2nd Avenue North, Rudolph died Thursday, June 23, 1988, at Riverview Manor where she had been a resident since November.

Mrs. Marzofka was born January 28, 1902 in Wisconsin to William and Anna Engel. She married Avalt Marzofka January 29, 1927 in Wisconsin Rapids. he died in 1965. She farmed in Rudolph for 57 years.

Survivors include three daughters, Leora Matthews, Wisconsin Rapids; Lois Gjertsen, Bangor, Wisconsin and Kathryn at home; four sons, Ralph and Ronald, Wisconsin Rapids, Avalt Jr, Prairie du Chein, and Marvin, Nekoosa, one brother Charles Engel, Illinois; 30 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson, three brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at Taylor Funeral Home. Services will be Saturday at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev Norman Paul will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

NOTE: Charles Engel was actually a nephew of Wilma's but was raised by his grandparents, William and Anna Engel after the death of his father, William, brother of Wilma.
