Landskrona is a late medieval town in Scania province, Sweden, located at the shores of Øresund, founded at the location of the former Danish fishing village Sønder Sæby in the province of Scania by king Erik of Pomerania early in the 15th century.

The location was a natural haven, and served as a trading city intended to compete with Danish towns under the control of the Hanseatic League. In 1428 the soldiers of the League burned the town down. The town is the seat of Landskrona Municipality. The town, which in March 2013 celebrated its 600th birthday, had close to 33,000 inhabitants at that time.

In 1720 the town, like its province, became a formal part of Sweden. Around the Castle build by Danish king Christian III in 1549, Landskrona Citadel, a huge system of moats emerged over the centuries, also in the town's Swedish history. Today the Citadel is famous for its well-preserved moat system, which includes parts of four moats. At the northern part of the Citadel, Sweden's second, and today oldest allotment area is located. Its port is based on a natural chute in the sandy sea floor, despite the lack of any nearby debouching river.

An astronom, astrologist and an alchemist Tyko Brahe lived on an island of Ven in Landskrona in 1576-1597. Now the site is a museum, and there is even a reconstructed observatory.

Later the town was early to industrialize, as well as for the industry to wither. The town, which is considered charming, tries to lure the fair people of Malmö, Helsinborg and Lund to move in the town, and commute.

Landskrona on samannimisen Landskronan kunnan keskustaajama. Se sijaitsee Skoonen läänissä ja Skoonen historiallisessa maakunnassa Etelä-Ruotsissa. Vuoden 2010 lopussa taajamassa oli 30 499 asukasta.

Landskronan kaupunki perustettiin Skånen parhaaseen luonnonsatamaan poliittisesti tärkeälle paikalle, josta käsin Eerik Pommerilainen saattoi taistella Hansaliittoa vastaan. Paikalle perustettiin karmeliittaluostari 1410, englantilaiset saivat sen yhteyteen kauppaoikeudet 1412 ja varsinainen kaupunki sai kaupunkioikeudet 1413. Hansaliitto poltti Landskronan 1428.

Astronomi, astrologi, alkemisti Tyko Brahe asui Venin saarella nykyisen Landskronan kunnan alueella vuosina 1576-1597. Paikalla on hänelle omistettu museo ja rekonstruoitu observatiorio.

Kaupunki teollistui varhain, mutta sen teollisuus on näivettynyt. Paikkakuntaa pidetään viehättävänä. Landskrona yrittää houkutella asukkaikseen Helsingborgissa, Lundissa ja Malmössä työskenteleviä ihmisiä hyvien liikenneyhteyksien avulla.

Landskrona är centralort i Landskrona kommun. Landskrona är den fjärde största tätorten i Skåne, med 32 229 invånare år 2015. Den ligger vid Öresund i västra Skåne, mellan Helsingborg och Lund.

Landskrona stad grundades möjligen den 20 mars 1413, då fiskeläget Sønder Sæby gavs stadsprivilegier av unionskungen Erik av Pommerin. Men årtalet har på senare år blivit omtvistat, då man på danska Rigsarkivet funnit ett diplom daterat 1405 vari ortnamnet "Landzcrone" förekommer, således måste staden existerat minst 8 år tidigare än man förut trott.===
