About the Dykes surname

INDENTURED Person BOND Holder

I am trying to find a certain John Dykes. John Dykes wa the indenture holder of my great grandfather [(five times removed) Thomas C. Cooper who came to America from England in 1719 at the age of 15 as an indentured servant. HIs destination was Baltimore Maryland. He was indentured for 8 years to "John Dykes. This would have freed him of indenture by 1727.
Thomas' first child was born 1731 in Pennsylvania. The next birth occurred in Virginia. A number of questions need answering:

What happened during his indenture?
Did he serve the full 8 years? Did he receive any property upon conclusion of the indenture from John Dykes?

Records of numerous John Dykes are available, but none fit the time line of my ancestor.
