I have been told there was documentation of surname Holl (spelt HOELL) going back to the early 1400's. I have seen this record, but naturally I cannot confirm this is my Ancestor's as i have not gone that far back so far.
In the 1700's the Holl Family lived in New Radnor, Wales, and I have found great cousin still living in Wales. When you can only go back so far before you get stuck, trying to find Grandparents it gets very frustrating, still I am hoping for a miracle and will find them LOL.
some of us spell it Hall after Susanna Boylston remarried to lieutenant John Hall correct spelling holl (hoell) my father Richard Hall told me this when I was little I'm sherilyn Anne hall they had Peter and asaph president John Quincy Adams half brothers and I grew up on Vashon island usa.
