About the Kleppe surname

My mother died when I was 13yrs old and she was 49.Iam planning a trip to Norway as she never got back to her homeland. iam in searching for family in new jersey and in Norway to make my visit a step back in learning the history of my family. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
