ZELIĆ

Prezime je nastalo od oznaka za tjelesne osobitosti osobe. Od pridjeva zelen prema boji očiju osobe su dobivale nadimke: Zela, Zele, Zelka, Zeljko, Zelenkad i sl. Ime Zelenkad - sunovrat, ovčica (narcissus augustifolina), izvorno "zlatna čaša". Od perzijskog zarr(i)n - zlatan i arapskog gad(a)h - čaša. Od nadimka Zele koji je u Brelima čest (Zele Medin, Zele Šošić i sl.) - sin od Zele - (mladi Zelc) - Zelić. Zelići su imali građevinske objekte u četirima zaseocima, Gornjoj Maloj, Pod Radonjicom, istočno od crkve Sv. Stjepana i u Zaveterju. Prvi pisani trag ovog prezimena nalazimo na popisu obitelji koji je sačinio Jurju Celergi 27. lipnja 1686. na Zadvarju na listu 477. Generalnog providura Cornara libro unico koji se čuva u Povijesnom arhivu u Zadru, među novo pridošlim prognanicima upisana je i obitelj udovice Mare Zelić koju su činila tri člana (vedova Margarita Zueglich). Zeliće na području Imotske krajine susrećemo u: Biorinama 1825. (Šurut/Šurutović), Cisti Vclikoj, Glavini D. (Kukavica), Imotskom 1871., Medovom Docu (Ščurla), Rašćanima (Erceg), Vinjanima (Radelić). Prema matičnoj knjizi Omiša za 1799. godinu u Brelima su živjele dvije obitelji Zelića, koje se vode:

U Elaboratu Austrijskog katastarskog premjera od 1830. godine građevinski objekti bill su upisani na imena:

  a) Gornja Mala - Tadije, Grge i Šimuna,
  b) istočno od crkve Sv. Stjepana - Tadije (objekti su prije bili vlasništvo obitelji Gobić),
  c) Pod Radonjicom - Grge, Josipa i Šimuna,
  d) Zaveterju - Šimuna u zajednici s Josipom Tomašem. Za vrijeme popisa stanovništva iz 1948. godine u Republici Hrvatskoj, Zelići su živjeli u 67 naselja. Breljanska skupina po veličini je bila treća, a činila ju je 61 osoba u 12 obitelji.

ZELIĆ

Last name is derived from the designation of physical characteristics of individuals. For the adjective green as in eye color, people are given nicknames: Zela, Zele, Zelka, Zeljko, Zelenkad etc. The name Zelenkad - narcissus, sheep (narcissus augustifolina), originally a "golden cup". From the Persian Zarra (i) n - gold and Arab scoundrel (a) h - glass. From a nickname which Zele is common in Brela (Zele Medin, Zele Šošić, etc.) - the son of Zele - (young Zelc) - Zelić.

Zelić families had buildings in four villages, Gornja Mala, under Radonjić, east of the church of Sv. Stephen and Zaveterju.

The first written record of the names listed on the families who made George Celergi June 27, 1686 at Zadvarju the list of 477 General Governor Cornaro Libro Unico kept at the Archive in Zadar, among the newly displaced pridošlim entered the widow and family Mare Zelić which consisted three members (Vedova Margarita Zueglich).

The Report of Austrian Cadastral Survey of 1830, the construction bill objects are registered in the names of: a) Gornja Mala - Tadije, Grge i Šimun,, b) east of the church of Sv. Stephen - Tadije (objects formerly owned by the family Gobić), c) Under Radonjic - Grge, Josip and Šimun, d) Zaveterju - Šimun in association with Josip Tomaš. During the census of 1948 in the Republic of Croatia, Zelić families lived in 67 settlements. Brela was the third largest group and made up of 61 people in 12 families.
