Rabbi Chaim Pinchas Scheinberg

Israel Joshua Singer
Hinde Esther Kreitman
Ephraim Avigdor Speiser, Ph.D.
discovered the ancient site of Tepe Gawra in 1927 and supervised its excavation between 1931 and 1938
Bernard Emmanuel Spitzer
Rabbi Selig Starr
He has taught thousands of young Jewish men Torah, Jewish ethics and culture. Due to his influence and inspiration many of these students later became leaders and teachers in Israel. There are at least 25 rabbis in Chicago alone (as of 1956) who were his students.

Thanks Robin. When I finish messing about in my Merge Center (data conflicts and tree conflicts), I'll work on these.

Coming up for air shortly. I really did spend the entire day in my Merge Center.

I have a question...is there a way to find the affidavits that were signed during the war? sponsoring Jewish immigrants?

3/16/2012 at 6:02 PM

Hmm, I've met Jim Schlesinger. I didn't know he had Jewish roots. His profile is private.

Selig Starr and Harold Brown are private.

SSG Isadore "Izzy" Jachman is private.

I believe I have added the public ones and am caught up.

I'll be offline until Sunday due to house guests. See you later!

Damn it Robin Lent,
now the conspiracy freaks will be complaining that not only is Barack Obama a Muslim, he's also Jewish. So no matter how you look at it, he's out for world-control. <<== Sarcasm

Shmuel, one of my customers was complaining about the President being a Muslim. I told him that's fantastic - we have our first Muslim president, now we need a Jewish president ;)

(Maybe I should go back to him armed with Robin's information and see if I can push that xenophobic button a couple more times ...)

Here are two more:

Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel and Meyer Lansky (born as Meyer Suchowljansky)

Partially responsible for the Flamingo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

You will have to find them yourself as I'm busy adding in some other important genealogies.

I haven't seen "Dr. Atomic," J(ulius) Robert Oppenheimer (my 4th cuz, BTW) on this list.
