someone appears to be out of generation/confused with a different person in the family
Cynthia Curtis, A183502, US7875087 Different families with similar names but different locations. Elizabeth Roberts Didn’t have her father’s name which was also confusing: fixed.

I'm working my way forward from George Abbott, Sr., of Rowley
Unfortunately, his son, Dea. Nehemiah Abbott and grandson, Nehemiah Abbott, of Topsfield lived in Linebrook Parish of Ipswich/Topsfield. Not every birth, baptism or death finds its way from there to Ipswich VR.
Should I trust Lemuel Abbott's Descendants of George Abbott, of Rowley, Mass., of his joint descendants with George Abbot, Sr., of Andover, Mass: of the descendants of Daniel Abbott, of Providence, R.I.; of some of the descendants of Capt. Thomas Abbott, of Andover, Mass.; of George Abbott, of Norwalk, Ct.; of Robert Abbott, of Branford, Ct.; with brief notes of many others of the name, original settlers in the United States? Great question, Emily: how do we verify & double check sources, especially pedigree reports / family studies?
The page I looked at had footnotes, always a good sign that he’s not just being a hagiographer / hack “sketch artist.”
Here’s his biography which shows a “person of substance”:
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Abbott-6785
So what you’d want to think about is if there’s been more recent studies, and vital records and other papers he didn’t have access to; since we already know VR is in short supply, Probate records at FamilySearch, perhaps.
Breaking news for 1579!
The name and parents of Richard Sambourne have been formally published: Clifford L. Stott, FASG, "The English Ancestry and Royal Descent of John, Stephen, and William Sanborn/Samborne of Hampton, New Hampshire," The American Genealogist 92 (2021/2022):1-16. < Link to issue contents > (August 2022 publication).
The geni tree has been updated.
DAR husband of SARAH X:
John Shepherd
two wives and 20 children.
I have posted here: https://www.geni.com/discussions/245980?msg=1591256
and here: https://www.geni.com/discussions/217560?msg=1591261
and here: https://www.geni.com/discussions/220784?msg=1591266
and am giving a half sister a parent to make her a full sister and discover the DAR profile needs work as well.
He should likely be disconnected from both wives and all children and add back a Sarah Unknown and the DAR proven children with others added with sources.
Can I get some extra eyes on these, please?
I disconnected Sarah Jennings Rash from John Shepherd as no children are attached and then I get this duplicate possibility Sarah Shepherd with "sisters" of same name:
Sarah Shepherd
Sarah Shepherd
Sarah Shepherd
Sarah Shepherd
Terrible mess.
I think
John Shepherd 's children are close to correct now.
The Smart Matches show a Sarah middle name Jennings last name Rash but these appear to be two different women Sarah Jennings and Sarah Rash who each married a Shepherd man. I originally came to them with a daughter Nancy who had been smushed with another Nancy and these are the daughters of the two Sarah's and their Shepherd husbands.
I have done a lot of work on them and just need some help to look at what remains since these are curated profiles involved and no response until I ran into them today.
A Geni user had started a Discussion a long time back but had no replies and I only saw it after seeing the mismerge and investigating further.
I am stepping off now and will revisit especially if tagged but these are not relatives and so I may not KNOW to come back to them
I don’t understand the marriages here, if anyone can add anything.
Dates don’t seen to work for Esther Pierson to have married both Sgt. Daniel Hotchkiss & Stephen Peirson
Well, the reported 2nd marriage of Sgt. Daniel Hotchkiss was an error. Eunice Hotchkiss was married to Daniel’s son Obediah Hotchkiss
So now it is possible.
http://rs5.loc.gov/master/gdc/scdser01/200401/books_on_film_project... does not have a maiden name for Stephen Peirson 2nd wife & surviving widow.
But D.L. Jacobus does in
Jacobus, Donald Lines. “The Hotchkiss Family.” New England Historical and Genealogical Register 66:327. NEHGS, 1912 Volume 66. Page 328. “She married secondly Stephen Pierson.”
So. Never mind. :)
Emily,
Both Dea. Nehemiah Abbott and Nehemiah Abbott, of Topsfield have probate records. The son Thomas Abbott who died in 1659 also has a will in which he names his brothers. You will also find land records related to estate settlement. As just one example, here is the deed in which Thomas's brothers (George, Nehemiah, and Thomas2) agree on the estate division: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G9ZZ-BVZ8?i=354&am...
But, this is a case in which the 2-volume set by Lemuel Abbott is in almost all cases very accurate and well-sourced. Those volumes are a good place to start.
Does he need a wife Agnes added to the profile or is the will someone else?:
John Moore
I am seeing dates for him from FAG but did his father have another wife before Roxanna Moore ?
Five sons of Robert Moore are named in his 1750 will but can we find them in other records to be sure these are their correct dates?
Please see Robert Moore
I think my "6th great grandfather" needs disconnected.
I think he has been confused for the son of Robert and Roxanne and much as I love them, I don't think they are the same
Thomas Post isn't listed in his father's bio, he died before his teens, but yet he married and had a child. The death date, wife and child came from this merge, which was a good merge. https://www.geni.com/merge/view?revision_id=82720539140
The son, Joseph Post has a death date that matches this FAG and put him with his grandparents and a different birth date. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/111055606/joseph-post
This FS tree also confirms what FAG has. https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/LKDP-G1J
Presuming we move the son to his grandparents, should Thomas stay with those parents?
There are relationship locks on some of these profiles, so I'm unable to do some of this.
Nathaniel Rudd, Sr. also has some issues.
According to NAFH, Nathaniel Rudd is connected to the wrong Mary Post as his wife. The Mary he is supposed to be married to was born in 1662 in Norwich, daughter of Hester Hyde and John Post. Nathaniel and Mary had 3 children, Jonathan, Mary and Lydia. Relationships are locked.
https://www.ancestry.com/sharing/118537?token=%2Fu0MxDET9YJ%2BRAmdk...
Thomas Lee, of Sussex has no relationship tab. His bio and information I'm finding says he only had 3 children.
Thomas Lee came from England in 1641, with his wife and three children, but he died at sea. Source is attached.
Thomas Lee, of Sussex Is fixed. A family will show no relationship tab if a curator has locked relationships. I filled in more biographies & resolved many smart match source conflicts, which is why this took a while.
Could I please get Abagail Butt MPd, so she doesn't end up confused with Abigail Rudd which is already MPd.
The Abigail that is already a MP was already confused with the other Abigail, because Abigail Butt's husband had been attached to Abigail Hartshorn, so this merge needs to be completed, too.

Private User - re: Joseph Post is I believe the son of Thomas Post & Rebecca Post so agree, and have done.
However, apparently uncle Thomas Post did survive & marry, according to what is usually a pretty reliable source - http://aleph0.clarku.edu/~djoyce/gen/report/rr07/rr07_191.html#P93719
I’ve attached the page here:

But. It’s a compilation, and the Family could use more primary source citations.
But. This exercise revealed an issue: Mary Rudd
Payne-Joyce does not reference Nathaniel Rudd, Sr. as a husband and has a different death date.
