Birth: Jun. 19, 1626 Departement de l'Orne Basse-Normandie, FranceDeath: Feb. 4, 1648 Quebec Capitale-Nationale Region Quebec, Canada Born in Mortagne, Orne, Basse-Normandie, France 1626, to Zacharie and Xainte Dupont.

Ann signed her marriage contract, the first in Canada, on July 27… 1636 and it is in front of Jean Guyon that the document was compiled. The marriage was celebrated on July 12, 1637. The happy husband of this 11 year old girl was Robert Drouin, originating in Pine-the-Garenne, a borough located at 10 km in the south of Mortagne. Unfortunately, the young woman died at age the 22 years, after having given birth to six children of which four had died in birth or shortly after.


GEDCOM Note

Marie Anne CLOUTIER was born and baptized 19 Jan 1626 in St-Jean-de-Mortaque, Perche, France. She arrived in New France on 4 Jun 1634, 100 years after Jacques CARTIER. She was one of the first to sign a marriage contract in Canada on 27 July 1636. Jean Guyon was a witness of this document. She was only 11 years old when she married. The young mother had six children but only two survived. Marie Anne died at the age of 22, on 2 Feb and was buried 3 Feb 1648 in Beaupré.
