About Dr. Henry van Beuren
Married first: Johanna Albertson of Bushwick , Long Island by whom he probably had no children; and secondly, not later than 1753 Catharina (Catrijnje) Van Voorhees (8 children)
"Dr Henry van Beuren was practicing medicine in Flatbush as early as 1754, and during that year published a caustic letter in the "Weekly Postboy" over the signature of "Dr. Henrdrick" giving a picture of medical practice in his time. The records of the Supervisors of King's County for 1754, 1765, 1770, and 1772 contain bills from him for his treatment of the poor.
He was an active Loyalist in Kings County during the Revolution and was one of those who took the oath of allegiance to the British Gov't in November, 1776 (Magazine of American History, Nov. 1884, p.466) In June 1781, Loyalists of Kings County were requested to meet at his house, and he was an addresser of Commissary Scott in the following year." source: William Jones according to Benjamin Aymar (early 20th century) material came from a family Bible made by Henry's son Coertland and his grandson Engelbert Kemmena van Beuren. {was not compelled to leave LI after the war}
- "Among the (Loyalist) physicians were Dr. Azor Betts, Dr. Adams, Dr. Richard Bonsall, Dr. Magra, Dr. Alexander Kellock, Dr. Peter Huggeford, Dr. Peter Middleton, Dr. William Moore, Dr. R. H. Auchmuty, Dr. S. Bard, Dr. R. Bayley, Dr. Barrant Roorback, Dr. George Smith and Dr. Henry Van Buren." = ~• https://archive.org/stream/loyalismnewyork00flicrich/loyalismnewyor...
