Francis Josiah Manuel was born in 1836 at Dorsetshire, Almer, England. He was baptised in Almer and died on 8th December, 1915 at Uralla, New South Wales, Australia, he was 79. His first wife was Betty Bullen, no details on her at the present time.
His second wife was Harriet White who was previously married to George White and had five children to him. There is no date for her birth or parents names, however she died on the 10th October, 1922 at Uralla at the age of 72 and is buried in the Uralla Cemetery, New South Wales.
Francis aka Frank, was the first born of William and Eliza nee Shepherd. He looked afer the horses when his father had a coaching inn at Yarrowyck. He had previously selected land at Salisbury and Yarrowyck and was also a shearer. Apparently he could not write as he witnessedhis sister, Tamar's marriage with an "X", when he was 19 years old.
Frank married late in life to Harriet White who was widely and affectionately known as "Aunty Dick".
Frank and Harriet had no children.
