"History of Christmas Island Parish" - page #44-45:
Stephen McInnis (Michael) was a blacksmith and farmer. He settled at Shenacadie and became the first post-master of that place. He married Mary, daughter of Jonathan McPhee (Tailor), Issue: — Ann, Catherine, John, Michael, Mary, Lucy, Elizabeth, Ambrose, and Sarah.
John settled at Shenacadie and married Margaret McDonald (Ealasaid Thearlaich), of McKinnon’s Harbour. Issue: — Liza, Mary Ann, Sarah, Stephen Alex, Mary M., Sarah M., and Christie. A number of these were schoolteachers, and Stephen Alex is a telegraph operator in Alberta.

John D. is trackman on the C.N.R. He married Kate, daughter of John McInnis (Stephen), of Shenacadie.
Issue: —one son and three daughters. After the death of their mother, the son and one of the daughters were drowned in Big Pond where they had gone with a little sleigh to coast one Sunday while their father was from home.
