About Joseph John Beste

Joseph J. Beste, 65, Washington, died Wednesday, May 16, 1990, at St. John's Mercy Hospital. Mr. Beste son of the late John C. and Cecelia Beste, nee Westhoelter, was born February 25, 1925 in Washington. He grew up in the Washington area and attended St. Gertrude School. June 17, 1950, he was uniter in marriage to Lorraine Heimann in St. Francis Borgia Church. They were blessed with six children, whom he servrves. He was a member of St. Gertrude Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Western Catholic Union, and also served as an usher at St. Gertrude Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Irene Lause, one brother, Rudolph Beste, and one son-in-law, Eugene Maune. Mr. Beste leaves to survive his wife Lorraine,three sons, David and Annette Beste of Washington, Neal and Linda Beste New Haven, and Roger and Dawn Beste of Washington, three daughters, Sharon Beste of Washington, Barbara Maune of New Haven, and Diane and husband Mike Jasper of Washington, seven brothers, Bernard and wife Mabel Beste, Aloys Beste, Harry Beste, Adolph and wife Laverne Beste, Robert and wife Dorothy, Tommy and wife Shirley, all of Washington, and James and wife Mary Agnes Beste of Union, one sister Dolores and husband Herman Frankenberg of Washington, one brother-in-law Felix Lause, one sister-in-law, Meredith Beste, both of Washington, six grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, May 19, at Si Gertrude's Church in Krakow, with Father Robert Argent officiating. Internment was in the church cemetery under the dirrection of Miller Funeral Home. Washington Missourian source.

LORRAINE HEIMANN WED TO JOE BESTE

         Vases of white gladiol0s adorned the alter of the St. Francis Borgia church Saturday morning, June 17, for the wedding of Miss Lorraine Heimann,  daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Heimann, and Mr. Joe Beste.  The nuptial mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Elgar Bockenfeld O.F.M. and was followed b a breakfast and a late afternoon dinner at the home of the bride’s parents for the bridal party, close family and friends.
      The bride was escorted to the alter by her father. Her bridal gown was fashioned of white marquisette over rayon satin, with a snug bodice, long sleeves with points coming well over the hands, and a draped bertha edged in lace below a sheer toke.  The skirt, which was fully gathered  at the waistline, cascaded to a long train and featured peplum over the hips.  A pearl studded coronet the nylon finger-tip veil and she carried a bouquet of lilies centered with an orchid.   The bride wore a single strand of pearls, a gift from the groom
       The bridesmaids, Miss Mary Jane Heimann, a sister, and Miss Delores Beste, the groom’s sister, wore bridal blush pink marquisette  gowns over rayon modeled with a dropped shoulder effect, cap sleeves and a bouffant skirt attached to a fitted bodice.  The wore sweetheart shaped hats trimmed with matching veiling and small cluster of flowers, long gauntlets and carried a bouquet of blue carnations.   The flower girl. Karen Ann Heimann the brides sister, was attired in light blue taffeta and carried a nosegay of pink carnations.  The bridesmaids jewelry was a rhinestone necklaces and the flower girl’s a heart-shaped locket, which were gifts from the bride.
        Mr. Beste, whose parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Beste, reside six miles south of Washington, chose his brother Harry Beste, for best man, and Norbert Heimann, the bride’s brother, as groomsman.  The bridegroom and his attendants wore blue business suits and carnation boutonnieres. 
          For her daughter’s wedding Mrs. Heimann wore a black and white sheer frock.  Mrs., Beste was attired in a blue flowered dress. Both wore a corsage of white carnations
          Mr. and Mrs. Beste’s wedding was climaxed with an evening reception at the city park auditorium  and the guests included family and friends.   
          On their return from a wedding trip of unannounced destination, the newly weds will reside at 9 W. Fourth Street.  Mr. Beste is co-owner of the Beste Brothers, Inc., Trucking Co.
