Mrs. Lena Hungate, lifelong resident of Shelby County, wife of Thomas Hungate, died at their home in Noble township at five o'clock yester-day afternoon, following a three month's ill-ness of cancer.
The deceased was born in this county on February 21, 1877, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Dodds. She was fifty-six years of age. Her marriage to Mr. Hungate took place on May 24, 1897 and four children were born to them.
Surviving with the husband are three daugh-ters and one son, Mrs. Redden Patterson, Mrs. Wilson Caudell of this county, Miss Florence Hungate and Glen Hungate at home. Mrs. Hungate also leaves three brothers, Alonzo and Amos Dodds of this county, Charles Dodds of Wyoming; three sisters, Mrs. Libby Jones of Waldron, Mrs. Kate Boyd and Mrs. Rose Wolverton of St.Paul; and four grandchildren.
She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church where funeral services will be held at 1:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. E.E.Weaver of Waldron officiating. Burial will be in the Copeland Cemetery, south of St.Paul, in charge of C.L. Wilson.
