William Dennis Hart

William Dennis Hart was a son, born to John T. Hart, Jr. & Elishea 'Elitia' Parks in 1838 at Accomack County, VA.

The 1850 Census listed William with his parents at St. George Parish, Accomack County, VA. He was shown as William Hart, age 9 in HH #277 headed by John Hart, a 38 year old laborer.

The 1860 Census listed William with his parents at Onancock, Accomack County, VA. He was shown as William Hart, a 19 year old farm worker in HH #582 headed by John Hart, a 49 year old farmer and his wife, Elishea, age 49.

Circa 1861 William married Mary Catharine Evans.

The 1870 Census listed William with his parents at Locust Mount, St. George parish, Accomack County. He was shown as Dennis Hart, a 30 year old & farming in HH #LM1003 headed by John Hart, a 60 year old farmer.

William died of cancer on July 17, 1883 at St. George Parish, Accomack County, VA. His death record shows him as William L. Hart, but his tombstone shows him as William Dennis Hart, 1838-1883.

The children of William Dennis Hart & Mary Catharine Evans are:

Nellie Sudie Hart (b ca 1866); Nancy Emily Hart (b ca 1869); Major Thomas Hart (b 1875 - d 1960); William D. Hart (b ca 1877) and 2 infant Harts (b 8/19/1880 - d 8/20/1880).
