ADMOR of Sanz [Halberstam] Hasidic dynasties (and family members)

The Sanz Hasidic dynasty was founded by Rabbi Chaim Halberstam (1793-1876) Rabbi of Nowy Sącz (Sanz, Yiddish: צאנז Tsanz), author of "Divrei Chaim" and a son-in-law of Rabbi Baruch Frankel Teomim (1760-1828), Rabbi of Lipník and Bečvou, author of "Baruch Taam". His family documents claims they are descended via the Maharal of Prague from R. Yoseph I of Rome and then back to King David of Israel.

He had fourteen children and was antecedent to several Chassidic dynasties, e.g.: Bobov (USA), Sanz-Gribov (USA), Sanz-Gorlitz (USA), Sanz-Klausenburg (Israel, USA), Sanz-Zhmigrod (USA, Israel).

The main Hasidic works revered by the Sanz Dynasty are Divrei Chaim, by Rabbi Chaim Halberstam of Tsanz and Divrei Yechezkel by his son, Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Halberstam

The goal of this project is to cleanup (merge and correct) these branches of the big Tree, and to encourage managers of private profiles on these branches to go public.

The Bobov Dynasty

• Myer Noson Halberstam - מאיר נתן הלברשטם, of Sanz (1827–1855), son of the Divrei Chaim
• Shlomo Halberstam - עטרת שלמה, First Bobover Rebbe (1847–1905). Founder of the Hasidic dynasty of Bobov, son of Rabbi Myer Noson.
• Ben Zion Halberstam, hy"d - קדושת ציון", הי"ד", Second Bobover Rebbe (1874–1941) הי"ד.
• Shlomo Halberstam (II) - כרם שלמה, Third Bobover Rebbe USA (1907–2000).
• Naftali-Zvi Halberstam - נפתלי צבי הלברשטם, Fourth Bobover Rebbe USA (1931–2005).
• Ben Zion Halberstam II - בן ציון הלברשטם Fifth Bobover Rebbe USA (Contender) (b. 1955), son of Shlomo Halberstam II.
• Mordechai Unger - מרדכי אונגר Fifth Bobover Rebbe USA (Contender) (b. 1954), son-in-law of Ben Zion Halberstam II.

The Sanz-Gribov Dynasty

• Aaron Halberstam - אהרון הלברשטם, Sanzer Rav; (1826–1903) son of the Divrei Chaim; progenitor of the Sanz-Gribov Hassidic line.
• Arye Leibish Halberstam - אריה לייביש הלברשטם, Sanzer Rav; (1852–1935) son of Rabbi Aaron
• Mordechai Zev Halberstam, hy”d - מרדכי זאב הלברשטם, הי"ד, Sanzer Rav; (1882–1942) son of Rabbi Aryeh Leibish
• Baruch Halberstam, hy”d - ברוך הלברשטם, הי"ד, Gribover Rav; (1903–1942) son of Rabbi Mordechai Zev

• Baruch Halberstam - ברוך הלברשטם, Sanz-Gorlitz Founding Rebbe (1826–1906) son of the Divrei Chaim.
• Elisha Halberstam - אלישע הלברשטם. Second Sanz-Gorlitz Rebbe (1860–1941) son of Rabbi Baruch, died in Siberia
• Boruch Halberstam - ברוך הלברשטם of Gorlitz-Bnei Brak, (1911–1982) son of Rabbi Elisha

The Sanz-Klausenburg Dynasty

• Baruch Halberstam - ברוך הלברשטם of Gorlitz (1826–1906) (see above), son of the Divrei Chaim.
• Tzvi Hirsh Halberstam - צבי הירש הלברשטם, of Rudnik (1851–1918) son of Rabbi Baruch of Gorlitz.
• Yekutiel Yehudah Halberstam -יקותיאל יהודה הלברשטם , First Sanz Klausenberger Rebbe in Brooklyn, NY & Kiryat Sanz, Netanya (1904–1994), son of Rabbi Tzvi Hirsh of Rudnik.
• Zvi Elimelech Halberstam - צבי אלימלך הלברשטם, Present Sanzer Rebbe in Kiryat Sanz, Netanya, Israel (b. 1953), eldest son of Rabbi Yekutiel Yehuda.
• Shmuel Dovid Halberstam - שמואל יהודה הלברשטם, Present Sanz-Klausenberger Rebbe in Brooklyn, New York, US (b. 1956), younger son of Rabbi Yekutiel Yehuda.

The Sanz-Zhmigrod Dynasty

• Baruch Halberstam - ברוך הלברשטם of Gorlitz (1826–1906) (see above), son of the Divrei Chaim.
• Sinai Halberstam - סיני הלברשטם, First Zhmigroder Rebbe, (1870–1941), youngest son of Rabbi Boruch of Gorlitz; died in the Omsk forest, Siberia.
• Aryeh Leibish Halberstam - אריה לייביש הלברשטם, second Zhmigroder Rebbe in Petach Tikva, Israel, (1909–2007) son of Rabbi Sinai.
