From http://www.dabney-early-virginia.info/getperson.php?personID=I109&t...

Sarah Dabney was born to Cornelius and Edith Dabney about 1670-1680 in New Kent County, Virginia, in the area that later became Hanover County.

In 1701, she received a patent from the Virginia authorities for 179.5 acres in King William County. Her brothers, James and George, and half-sister, Dorothy Dabney received comparable grants because their father, Cornelius, had previously leased a similar amount of land from the Pamunkey Indians before the area was opened to settlement.

Within the next few years, she married Isaac Winston Sr. of Hanover County, a son of Anthony Winston of New Kent County, who died in December, 1725. Although some traditions give his wife as Mary Dabney, evidence from an early deed indicates that he probably married first to Sarah Dabney, a daughter of Cornelius and Edith Dabney of Hanover County, and second to Mary Dabney. In the deed, made in 1732 in King William County, William Winston, who was identified as the son and heir of Sarah Winston, conveyed for a tiny token payment the 179.5 acres that Sarah Dabney received in 1701 to Cornelius Dabney (b. 1690/98, d. bef 1738, son of James Dabney of King William County), husband of Lucy (Winston) Dabney. Lucy was mentioned as a daughter of Isaac Winston in his will after her second marriage to Williams Coles. From the foregoing, it can be concluded that William Winston, sometimes called “Langaloo Billy”, and Lucy (Winston) Dabney Coles were brother and sister and children of Isaac Winston and Sarah (Dabney) Winston.

Isaac and Sarah had six children: Isaac, born about 1715-20; William; Sarah; Mary Ann; Lucy; and Anthony, born September 29, 1723.

GEDCOM Note

There is disagreement as to her identity. It is said that Isaac Winston did leave a wife 'Mary' but she was not the mother of any of his children. She has been described as his 'young and last wife'. For years historians having been searching for the mother of Isaac Winston's children and of course the ancestry of his dtr Sarah-mother of Patrick Henry..
