The story behind the origin of "Palk ".
The original surname is Palackavayalil. I came to the United States 1972 to continue the Graduat study in Appalachian State University in North Carolin with a student vissa. Later when I became a naturalized citizen I decided to change the name because it was too long. Also it was hard for the Americans to pronounce the name. Some times when applying for a job the employers some times don't look at the resume either. So I decided to do some thing. Even at the interview the interviewer dome times directly ask about the nationality. I did'nt like that . So I decided to shorten the name. So I took the first few letters of "Palackavayalil" and changed to "Palk". Later I found out that "Palk" is a famous place in the world map. You may wonder what. If you look at the southern tip of India , you will see the "Palk Streight" between India and Sree Lenka which is where Hanuman jumped to Sree lanka to get defeat Ravana in the eppic Ramayna. This is the story of PALK.
