About Ingvald Lauritz Knudson
Engwal was number six in the family. He was born Sept. 15, 1883 and died August 7, 1928 at the age of 45. Ingvald, as Alma recalled him, was one of two artists in the family. He created a basket of fruit that was displayed on the dining wall of the homestead. The family moved into the newly built house on Nov 21, 1885 when Ingvald was just a baby. Lars was very proud of his new son and he would frequently play with him by hanging him by his diaper on a wooden coat peg in the kitchen. Ingvald would laugh and enjoy his time on the high perch.

Ole persuaded mother and dad to send Knute to the Uinv. of No. Dak. In 1904 he was very ill with TB and was just recovering when Carl died. He gradusted with a degree in Law.
Ingvald (Knute) married Laura Page on June 20, 1911 in Devils Lake, No Dak. They had three children, Loreen, Barbara and Carol. In June of 1924 Ingvald had surgery for cancer at the University of Rochester. He never did completely recover and he died of complications in August 7, 1928.
