Herman W. Knudson

Alma has much to say about Herman,"Hi" as she calls him. He was born April 2, 1892 and died December 27, 1949. He was the tenth child to be born to Lars and Olianna.

Hi was a member of the family band and he played the violin after taking lessons from Sathre. He played beautifully by ear or note and Anna said she was proud to accompany him on the organ.

Hi worked as assistant cashier in banks at Doyon, York and at the First Nat'l Bank in Leeds where Ingvald was a cashier.

Hi and his wife Sue, whom he married on June 3, 1922, went into the theatre business in Montana and this grew into a chain of seven theatres in three states.

Hi volunteered to join the Army in 1918 and he was sent to France.

Hi returned one time in 1916 to help on the farm with Ivan and Sam.

On December 27, 1949 Hi passed away suddenly from a stroke. His wife Sue and son Lyman Burns survived him.
