About the Teeter surname

The Teeter surname is also Deeter. It appears that when the name was transcribed from the German Dieter, Deterich, Dieterich (some spellings of the name, it was Americanized and depending who was writing it heard T or D since the pronunciation in Germa was similar. There are many instances of Teeter's having children with both Teeter and Deeter surnames. My tree has many instances of both spellings.
