Sukunimenä Kyrönlahti tulee tiettävästä Etelä-Pohjanmaalta, Alajärveltä. Alajärven itärannalle 1600-luvulla perustettu Kyröläisen talo oli ensimmäisiä kyseisen järven rannalle perustetuista tiloista. Noin sata vuotta myöhemmin oli Kyröläisen nimi muotoutunut Kyrönlahdeksi, kuten myös lahti järvessä. Nykyään nimeä kantaa muutama sata henkilöä.
As lastname Kyrönlahti comes from southern osthrobothnia, Alajärvi, Finland. House of Kyröläinen was formed to the east side of the lake Alajärvi in 17th century, as one of the first ones around the lake. About hundred years later the name was taken it's vurrent form. There is also a bay in Alajärvi-lake named Kyrönlahti. --->
