About the Du Bois surname

French Huguenots who fled France, to England, the Netherlands. My family fled to the Netherlands. Elizabeth DuBois was my 12th greatgrandmother who descended from Antoine Dubois de Fiennes and the De Croix families. Antoine's son, Chretien Du Bois came to America and settled in New Paltz, New York. His sister Elizabeth married Dr. John Briscoe, in Crofton Hall, Cumberland ,England. They were invited to come to Maryland Colony by Lord Baltimore. They accepted his invitation and arrived in 1634 in Maryland Colony. They settled in Port Tobacco. They never returned to England.
