About Ruth Robinson

Andrew (d. 1872), George (d. 1786), Isaac (d. 1790), Isaac (b. c. 1773), Mary (b. c. 1780), Ruth (1778-1871), Thomas (1715-1764), and Thomas (c. 1774-1845) are given the middle name Butler by Alex B. M. Stoney, ‘Some newer annals of the Stoney family’ (Epping (NSW): the author, 2008). No other source has been found for this, and it seems likely that the name Butler was introduced into the family only by the marriage of Richard Falkiner Stoney to Jane Butler in 1812.

'Some old annals of the Stoney family' says she died in 1872 at the age of 94. The Kirkpatrick Family Archives say she was born in 1778 in Arran Hill. Burke's Irish Families says she was born in October 1778 and died on 29 November 1871. Another source says she was born in 1780 and died on 21 November 1871. Her death certificate says she died on 29 November 1871 at the age of 94.

[Her husband's] "coffin was made from the timber of a favourite Oak Tree, and she kept boards of the same wood for fifty years for her own coffin.

"Now after their long separation they lie side by side in Ballingarry Church yard.

"During my Great Grandmother's life she divided the Estate between her sons. My Grandfather the Rector of Ballingarry receiving Ballynavin Castle and Tinnymuck - his brothers Thomas, and Augustus, Riversdale and Cloughkeating Castle."- A. de L. Kirkpatrick.
