About the Meeks surname

My husband's last name was changed to Meeks from Meek when he went into the Army. His name was Grover C. Meeks. He was married to Wanda Cambell till she passed away in 1979. They had one daughter who's name was Paula Kay Meeks. Grover was the son of W.T.(Willie Meeks) and Savora Chamblee of Hartsville Alabama. He married Carolyn June Shankle in 1985. Carolyn had three Children a daughter anced Sherri Ann Trent and a Daughter named Tammye Lee Rivers and a son named Billy Nelson Rivers. He passed away in 2005. We had togeather 11 grand kids and now have 13 great grand kids.. Most of which live in N.Carolina and Va. All our daughters live in the Denton& Tarrent Co.Oldest daughter Paula has two Girls, Sherri has two girls and one son. One daughter lives in Tx. the other two live in Ashville N.C. tthen the youngest daughter Tammye Lives in Tarrent Co. and she has one daughter who is has her own business and a Son who plays base in a band called Johnathan Tyler and the Northern lights. His name is Brandon but his stage name is Kansas. My son Billy has two kids Amanda Elain Rivers who works for a Child care place and Matthew Nelson Rivers is attending Cheff School,and is doing intern work for them. Sherri's son is an artist, and her oldest daughter is in the restrant business and her youngest daughter who lives in Tx. works for Children's Hospital in Frisco or Plano. Kacey Paula's youngest daughter works for a Bank in Irving. Sherri's step son Chris is in the Army Reserves. He served time in Iran. He and his wife and two sons and his brother Jeff live in Morganton N.C. Grover served 13 years in the US Army. He fought in the Korean War and WW2. He landed on Normady on I believe it was June 6th.He was a wonderfful husband, father and grandfather to all the kids and He passed away from Diabetes complications in Dec. of 2009. He is truly Missed by each and everyone in Our family and by every one who knew him. He was very compasionate, loving and carring person any one could hope to know. He retired in 1985 after working many years for Beachcraft Avation. He was very inventive of helpful things around the house and had a yard that every one was envious of. He was a very neat man who got up and shaved every morn. and always dressed very neat. He truly was one of a kind and I thank the Lord for bring him to me. I will always feel live we were Meant to meet.And we were married for 25 yrs, which were not near enough. I only wish I had met him years earlier. But I am thankful that I had him as long as I did. There are a lot of found memories to look back on and good times as well.
