My mother's mother was born with the surname Masalin. She was Hedvig Sofia Masalin, born in Peräseinäjoki, nowadays part of Seinäjoki. She married Frans Henrik Salminen, former Rajalahti. My mother was their youngest child. Her siblings were Ellen, Frans, Vilho, Yrjö and Arvo. Some of her siblings died very young.
