THE FIJI ELLIOTT Surname: sometimes spelt with two Ls and one T.
What I know - My paternal gt.grandfather who was THOMAS RICHARD ELLIOTT was a scotsman who arrived in Fiji in the mid to late 1800s from Australia. He was an employee of the Colonial Sugar Refinery (CSR or 'seasa') in the town of Ba. Little is known of his life in Australia or previous to that, Scotland.
The surname ELLIOT(T), ELIOT, ELYOT etc.. seems to have its roots in the Border country of scotland. To date, this name is found the world over in Ireland, UK, the Americas, Asia and the Pacific.
