One source stated that the ship "Pink Plaisance," which landed at the port of Philadelphia September 21, 1732, has aboard one "Jerg Bernhart Mohn." A clerk in Philadelphia heard the name phonetically and wrote my ancester's name down as "George Bernard Mann." Hence the name "Mann" became our family name from the colonies to the present. "Mann" and "Mohn" were both pronounced the same way. http://www.genealogygoldmine.com/martin/shiplists/1732Plaisance.html
